Role Description

As a detail-oriented developer, you’ll create web apps, websites, and interactive digital experiences for clients across diverse industries. We’re looking for a full-stack PHP developer who excels in modern web development, enjoys collaborating with clients to understand their industry and project needs, and prioritises the user in every decision. 

You’ll collaborate closely with our Digital Director as we grow our development team to tackle larger projects and clients. This role offers the opportunity to develop into a leadership position, become a key member of our team, and maintain a strong focus on detail in your work and adherence to internal processes. You’ll also be supported in expanding your skillset and continually refining your expertise.

 

What you'll do:

  • Work closely with the digital director and design team to create websites, interactive experiences, and apps
  • Support junior web developers
  • Review pull-requests
  • Maintain internal apps and websites
  • Client support including bug fixing and maintenance
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate technical issues to clients and our team
  • Contribute to project proposals and proofing of works to clients
  • This is a hybrid position offering flexible working options. You will be required to attend weekly development meetups in Sheffield and be available to come into the Barnsley office as needed.

 

Role Requirements

What you'll need:

  • Minimum 3 Years Experience
  • Experience in creating web Laravel apps for production and maintaining them
  • Passion for creating user-focused responsive websites and apps
  • Self-motivated and have a passion for developing themselves and pushing the boundaries of the work they produce
  • Broad interest in digital creativity
  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Contribute to workshops with clients and within the team
  • An eye for detail
  • A strong desire to develop the role and lead, mentor and guide junior developers

 

Essential Skills:  

  • Experience in creating web apps using Laravel & React for production
  • Strong well-rounded knowledge of PHP, JavaScript and OOP
  • Experience in using JSON/Rest APIs 
  • Creating responsive websites using HTML, CSS, SASS & BEM
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • GIT
  • MYSQL
  • Redis
  • Understanding of best practices in Authentication and Security in developing web & mobile apps

Desirables:

  • Experience in NextJS
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 standards and testing
  • Tailwind CSS
  • Server administration
  • React Native
  • GSAP or Similar animation library
  • CI/automated testing
