Westlink Bus Launch

Objective

WESTlink is an on-demand minibus service that allows residents to book their bus journeys through an app, website, or phone. It forms part of the largest on-demand bus scheme in the UK. It aims to reconnect communities by offering people currently without a local service the opportunity to get back on the bus.

As part of a larger campaign, North Somerset Council came to us for an animation to demonstrate how the service easily connects with a diverse range of locations and communities and the people within them.

Delivery

Our first step was collaborating with council stakeholders to identify the different types of users and their interactions with the service, laying the groundwork for the project.

Next, we arranged on-site filming across the West of England, capturing authentic footage of the bus service in operation and conducting a reccy to understand its real-world functionality.

For the animations themselves, we storyboarded key elements, rigged inclusive and diverse characters, and rendered 3D scenes that mirrored the service’s real-world locations.

The final advertisement was delivered in multiple cuts, tailored for digital marketing to support the bus service’s launch.

We crafted a vibrant advert for WESTlink, driving bookings and inspiring communities to embrace on-demand travel.
