FAQs

Software development questions, answered.

If it follows rules, it can be automated

What tasks can be automated with an SaaS tool?

Anything rule-based and repetitive: moving data between systems, generating documents, chasing approvals, producing reports. Judgement calls don't automate. Neither does a process nobody can describe the same way twice, so we sort that out first.

We'll connect to what you already run

Will the software you make work with the systems we already use?

Most business systems have an API, and where one doesn't we can work with exports or connect directly to the database. The bigger job is often the data itself, so we look at what you have before committing to an approach.

Built for how your business actually works

What kinds of systems do you build?

Anything a business runs on: booking and scheduling, job and order management, quoting, dashboards, customer portals. The pattern is usually something important living on spreadsheets, or systems that don't talk to each other. We build the piece in the middle.

You own it, and you can take it anywhere

Who owns the code?

You do. The contract assigns the intellectual property to you on completion, along with the code itself, so another developer could pick it up tomorrow. No lock-in, nothing held back.

Discovery first, so nothing is guessed

How much does bespoke software cost?

Discovery is where we work that out. We map the full picture first, then phase it, so each stage is priced against something defined. Price moves on how many processes it covers, how many systems it connects to, and how much data comes with it.

Launch is the start, not the end

What happens after the software is launched?

We stay with it. A retainer covers security patches, updates, monitoring and a direct route to us when something goes wrong. Launch is the start of the relationship, not the end of the job.

We'll tell you when you don't need us

Should we just buy off-the-shelf software instead?

Sometimes, and we'll tell you when. Off-the-shelf wins where your process is standard and the product is mature: accounting, payroll, email. Bespoke earns its place when the process is what makes you different, or when you're running five tools that don't talk to each other.

It changes as your business does

Will it still work as the business changes?

That's the advantage of bespoke. Your business changes and the system changes with it, rather than you switching tools every few years and moving the data again. We're still here to make those changes, which is why most of our clients have been with us for years.
